46 More 'Baeknyeon Gage' Selected Including Seoul Sammiok and Yeosu Daeseong Restaurant

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 15th that 35 food service businesses, including Seoul Seolleongtang restaurant Sammio, Yeosu tuna sashimi restaurant Daeseong Sikdang, and Busan stamping company Ihwa Injae Sangsa, along with 11 wholesale and retail businesses, have been newly selected as 'Baeknyeon Gage' (Century-old Stores).

Since June 2018, the Ministry has been selecting Baeknyeon Gage by comprehensively evaluating stores with over 30 years of business history based on the management's willingness to innovate and differentiation of products and services. Selected businesses receive a Baeknyeon Gage certificate and certification plaque, along with support for promotion, consulting, preferential policy funding, and networking.

With this selection, the total number of Baeknyeon Gage nationwide has increased to 334. By industry, there are 240 food service businesses and 94 wholesale and retail businesses; by region, Seoul has 43, Gyeonggi 33, and Busan 29.

The Ministry plans to introduce a public recommendation system for Baeknyeon Gage selection starting this year to gather voices from the field. Additionally, it will continuously discover incentives to support entry into online and offline markets and plans to create an online map of Baeknyeon Gage.

Businesses wishing to participate in the Baeknyeon Gage development project can apply or be recommended at any time from March this year at 62 Small Business Support Centers nationwide.
