[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting an 'AI (Artificial Intelligence) Industry Strategist' to oversee its 4th Industrial Revolution policies.
The 'AI Industry Strategist,' a position equivalent to Grade 2 (Professional Term Appointment Level A), will assist the governor in policy decisions by overseeing and coordinating policies related to the 4th Industrial Revolution, including robotics, artificial intelligence, and big data. The strategist will also play a role in discovering innovative policies related to AI fields such as drones, autonomous driving, and intelligent robots through advisory and coordination tasks with various business departments.
The province will accept applications from the 29th to the 31st of this month, then select the final candidate through a first-round document screening and a second-round interview. Notably, the entire interview process will be publicly accessible online.
To ensure fairness in the interviews, a panel of 30 to 50 judges, including AI and related industry workers, company officials, and experts, will be formed. Details regarding this recruitment can be found on the Gyeonggi Province website (www.gg.go.kr) and the Ministry of Personnel Management’s Nara Work website (www.gojobs.go.kr) as of the 16th.
A provincial official stated, "We plan to establish a more proactive and systematic development strategy for the AI sector centered on the AI Industry Strategist, as well as actively discover and support related policies. We look forward to the interest and applications from those who possess expertise, capability, and passion."
Meanwhile, last year, the province selected one Youth Secretary through a 'No Spec' screening process, which focused solely on the vision for youth policy rather than academic background or career experience. That selection attracted attention with as many as 106 applicants.
