Nature Spa (CEO Jeong Ki-hoon), a large spa facility that opened at the end of September 2019 on the slopes of Simhak Mountain in Paju, is gaining industry attention for establishing eco-friendly facilities that enhance energy efficiency.
Nature Spa is becoming increasingly popular with its bathing facilities using 1300m mineral natural bedrock water, outdoor baths, and oak loess jjimjilbang. It has become a landmark in Paju due to many linked products with Paju Lotte Outlet, the publishing complex, and Simhak Mountain hikers. Additionally, it operates Gangnam Myeonok Paju branch and StayC Cafe directly, enabling course tourism that continues from spa use to food, increasing customer satisfaction. The company estimates that over 1,000 people visit on weekends alone.
Despite operating outdoor baths even in winter, Nature Spa has been running at about one-third the energy and maintenance costs compared to typical spa businesses over the past month, which the company attributes to the eco-friendly facilities installed.
Geumo Design (Chairman Bang Hyo-su), the equipment and interior company involved from the initial planning of Nature Spa, developed a groundwater well to supply 1300m mineral natural bedrock water and minimized maintenance costs by introducing air heat and waste heat recovery systems while achieving a proper balance by using oak wood without losing traditional elements. CEO Jeong Ki-hoon of Nature Spa explained that this was possible because Geumo Design is a specialized company with over 20 years of accumulated know-how.
CEO Jeong Ki-hoon stated, “We have ambitions for further business expansion and plan more growth through continuous partnership with Geumo Design.” He also expressed gratitude to Geumo Design and asked for continued interest in Nature Spa’s future endeavors, which capture space, product value, and efficiency.
