The movie "Dolittle," starring Robert Downey Jr., led the weekend box office. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on the 13th, the film attracted 717,771 viewers over the past weekend (October 10-12) across 1,290 screens (16,866 showings). It accounted for 39.8% of the box office revenue share, reaching a cumulative audience of 929,653. The seat occupancy rate was 24.7%, ranking third among films with over 10,000 seats secured.
"Baekdusan," which had topped the weekend box office for three consecutive weeks, drew 265,385 viewers on 881 screens (9,791 showings). This represents a 53.0% (299,715 viewers) decrease compared to the first weekend of this month (October 3-5), which had 565,100 viewers. Its box office revenue share was 15.2%, with a cumulative audience of 7,996,778. The new release "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" showed a higher box office revenue share (16.0%) than Baekdusan due to special venue screenings. However, it only attracted 261,957 viewers on 948 screens (10,011 showings), signaling a red flag for its performance. The seat occupancy rate remained at 14.4%. Its cumulative audience reached 381,515.
"The Great Battle" slipped two ranks. It drew 137,650 viewers on 685 screens (5,694 showings). This is a 59.9% (205,549 viewers) decrease from the first weekend of this month, which had 343,199 viewers. Its box office revenue share was 7.5%, with a seat occupancy rate of 18.0%. The cumulative audience reached 1,886,376. "Midway" also dropped two ranks, attracting 103,019 viewers on 581 screens (4,047 showings). This is a 66.4% (203,209 viewers) decrease from the first weekend of this month, which had 306,228 viewers. Its cumulative audience was 884,248.
"Start-Up" (107,10 viewers; cumulative 3,251,381), "Frozen 2" (43,286 viewers; cumulative 13,684,663), "Shinbi Apartment: The Movie - Sky Goblin vs. Jormungandr" (30,985 viewers; cumulative 867,160), "Ford v Ferrari" (17,753 viewers; cumulative 1,323,860), and "Knives Out" (17,459 viewers; cumulative 753,094) followed in order.
