Targeting customers who prefer premium gifts, this is the first raw truffle gift set introduced in the department store industry and will be available until the 19th.
Truffles, commonly known as Songro mushrooms, have a deeply addictive aroma and are traded at high prices due to the difficulty of artificial cultivation. Truffles are called the "world's three great delicacies," "diamonds of the earth," and "jewels of the soil." They have long been loved by Western gourmets and are especially known as the mushroom favored by Napoleon.
The "Black Truffle Set" sold at Lotte Department Store consists of 120g of black truffle and one truffle slicer, priced at 580,000 KRW. Black truffles retain their original aroma even when heated up to about 50 degrees Celsius, making them suitable for various dishes. Using the included "truffle slicer," truffles can be thinly sliced to enhance texture and flavor.
Han Wookjin, Chief Buyer at Lotte Department Store, said, "Recently, truffle ingredients such as truffle oil, salt, and sauce have gained popularity through broadcasts, which likely increased customers' curiosity about expensive raw truffles. We planned this as the first in the industry to meet customers who want products differentiated from existing premium gift sets."
