[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LG Electronics announced on the 12th that it received a total of 119 awards at 'CES 2020,' the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, including 16 awards such as the 'CES Best Innovation Award' and 'CES Innovation Award' presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). Among these, more than half, 69 awards, were for TV products.
The LG OLED TV (model name CX) received the top award in the TV category from Engadget, the official award partner of CES. This marks the sixth consecutive year since 2015 that LG OLED TV has been selected as the best TV at CES.
At this CES, LG Electronics showcased a large number of TV products featuring 'Real 8K.' The U.S. IT media outlet Tom's Guide praised LG Electronics' 'wall-mount design,' stating that "LG OLED TV has evolved to be more sophisticated and thinner."
Home appliances also received awards from numerous media outlets. Products that attracted attention included the 'LG TwinWash' dryer equipped with an AI DD motor, the premium cordless vacuum cleaner 'CordZero A9,' a plant cultivation device, and the ice maker 'LG InstaView Craft Ice.'
IT products such as the LG Gram 17 laptop, LG UltraGear gaming monitor, LG sound bar, and the LG G8X ThinQ (domestic name LG V50S ThinQ), which utilizes the LG Dual Screen, received a total of 23 awards.
