[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Go Yang-seok) attended the graduation ceremony held on the morning of the 10th at the auditorium of Gwangnam High School located in Gwangjang-dong to celebrate the graduation season. The chairman presented commendations to students who serve as role models, encouraging the graduates' new beginnings.


The commendation ceremony, conducted to raise interest in legislative participation and local autonomy and to support talent development, selects recipients from each school and awards them according to the graduation schedule.


The Gwangjin District Council selects a total of 111 students recommended from 40 out of 48 schools in the region, including 37 elementary students, 39 middle school students, 26 high school students, 6 university students, and 3 others, and presents chairman’s commendations.


At the Gwangnam High School graduation ceremony that day, two students received the chairman’s commendation.


Graduation ceremonies are held by each school from January 7 to February 21.


The Gwangjin District Council plans to encourage interest and motivation in local councils through various commendation awards in the future.
