[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] It has been confirmed that the police recently conducted a search and seizure of the vehicle belonging to singer Kim Gun-mo (52), who is suspected of sexual assault.
According to the police on the 9th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul searched Kim's vehicle the previous afternoon and secured records such as the vehicle's GPS data.
This search and seizure was carried out to track Kim's movements in 2016, the time when A, who raised the allegations, testified that she was sexually assaulted. Additionally, the police are reportedly seeking to verify through GPS records whether Kim attempted to pressure or persuade A after the sexual assault allegations. A is currently reported to have requested personal protection from the police.
On the 9th of last month, A submitted a complaint to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office through lawyer Kang Yong-seok and others, and on the 14th, she appeared at the Gangnam Police Station, which is investigating the case, where she was questioned for about eight hours.
The police plan to summon Kim for questioning.
Earlier, on the 6th of last month, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, featuring lawyer Kang and others, claimed that A, who worked at a nightclub in August 2016, was sexually assaulted by Kim. In response, Kim's agency, Geoneum Planning, filed a defamation lawsuit against A under the Information and Communications Network Act on the 6th.
