US-Iran Clash Causes KOSPI to Break 2140 Level... KOSDAQ Drops Over 3%

[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Boryeong] As the armed conflict between the United States and Iran was reported, the domestic stock market is showing a sharp decline. In particular, the KOSDAQ fell more than 3% compared to the previous day.


As of 10:55 a.m. on the 8th, the KOSPI index recorded 2145.31, down 30.23 points (1.39%) from the previous session. The KOSPI, which opened the day at 2156.27, continued its weakness and at one point during the session fell to 2137.72, breaking below the 2140 level.


In the stock market, individuals and foreigners were net buyers of 93.7 billion KRW and 94.1 billion KRW respectively, while institutions were net sellers of 184.2 billion KRW.


The KOSDAQ is in a more difficult situation. At the same time, the KOSDAQ was down 21.30 points (3.21%) to 642.14. The KOSDAQ, which opened at 657.24, showed a deepening decline, falling to 637.43.


In the KOSDAQ market, individuals and institutions were net sellers of 2 billion KRW and 6.4 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners were net buyers of 6.1 billion KRW.
