[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jaehee] On the 7th (local time), the U.S. Department of Defense identified Iran as the perpetrator of missile attacks on U.S. military bases stationed in Iraq. It also warned that it will take all necessary measures.

According to major foreign media, Jonathan Hoffman, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense, stated that the missiles that flew to U.S. military bases in Iraq were clearly launched from Iranian territory.

The Department of Defense announced that Iran fired more than 10 ballistic missiles targeting U.S. and coalition forces.

It is also reported that at least two U.S. military bases in Iraq, where U.S.-led coalition forces are stationed, were attacked.

The Department of Defense is currently assessing the initial damage situation and said it will take all necessary measures to protect U.S. personnel, partners, and allies in the area.

Iranian state TV reported that on the morning of the 8th (local time), Iran launched dozens of surface-to-surface missiles at the Ain al-Asad Airbase in Iraq, where U.S. forces are stationed. Immediate damage has not yet been confirmed.
