[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Facebook has strengthened its privacy management features.
On the 6th (local time), Facebook announced the newly updated 'Privacy Checkup' feature at CES 2020, the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the United States.
This update is the first major overhaul since Facebook launched this feature in 2014. It is divided into four main categories to allow users to manage their personal information more easily and conveniently.
The updated contents mainly include ▲Who can see the posts I share ▲How to keep your account secure ▲How people can find me on Facebook ▲My Facebook data settings.
First, through the 'Who can see the posts I share' feature, users can check who has access to their profile information.
Additionally, users can enhance account security by setting a stronger password and login alerts. With this overhaul, users can see how people can find them on Facebook and who can send them friend requests.
Users can also check information shared through third-party applications and websites logged in with their Facebook account and delete applications and websites they no longer use.
Furthermore, the subcategories explaining how users can set and manage their account security?such as login alert settings and choosing stronger passwords?have expanded from three to eight.
The updated Privacy Checkup feature can be accessed directly via search on the Facebook mobile app and web, and it is scheduled to be applied to all users worldwide within this week.
A Facebook representative stated, "We will continue to update privacy-related features so that users can make more accurate decisions to protect their personal information."
