[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 6th that it conducted the ‘2019 Hygiene and Courtesy Evaluation’ targeting model restaurants and general restaurants designated under the hygiene rating system, selecting a total of five excellent establishments, including one top-rated and four highly rated ones.
This evaluation was conducted to foster a proper food culture and improve the level of good diet practice services.
Buk-gu selected 17 establishments after the first round of evaluation out of a total of 84 candidates. The final on-site evaluation by the Food Culture Improvement Promotion Committee assessed criteria such as good diet practice, hygiene and cleanliness of business premises, restroom cleanliness, employee cleanliness, and courteous service. Haetteulnal Pocha (Yongbong-dong) was selected as the top-rated establishment, and four others including Yongjeon Meat Restaurant (Yongjeon-dong) were chosen as highly rated establishments.
Haetteulnal Pocha, selected as the top-rated establishment, received the highest scores in proper food waste disposal, business premises hygiene, and customer convenience facilities. The four highly rated establishments?Yongjeon Meat Restaurant (Yongjeon-dong), Gosu Dakgalbi Jeonnam University Branch (Yongbong-dong), Hamyang Ot Dak (Yudong), and Maepchon Yongbong Branch (Yongbong-dong)?also received high scores.
Buk-gu plans to award commendations to the owners of the restaurants selected as excellent establishments and provide various incentives such as plaques and hygiene supplies.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “Through this evaluation, we hope that customers visiting restaurants will receive a higher level of service,” adding, “We will continue to promote various policies to spread a proper food culture and improve customer service levels.”
