[Featured Stock] Ranix to Sell Level 3 Autonomous Driving from July... Korea's Only V2X Integrated Solution

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Lanix is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that from July, autonomous vehicles capable of maintaining lanes on their own without the driver holding the steering wheel will be released.

Lanix was traded at 7,950 KRW, up 10.11% (730 KRW) as of 10:22 AM on the 6th.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 5th that with the establishment of safety standards, the release and sale of Level 3 autonomous vehicles equipped with automatic lane-keeping functions will be possible from the second half of the year. The automatic lane-keeping function allows the autonomous driving system to safely maintain lanes on its own while responding to emergency situations.

Earlier, Minister Kim Hyun-mi of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport held a meeting with autonomous vehicle-related companies on the 18th at The-K Hotel in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, emphasizing, "We will strengthen regulatory relaxation and development support for companies with the goal of building core infrastructure by 2024."

Minister Kim added, "We will strive to ensure that the domestic future car industry does not fall behind on the international stage due to regulations, insufficient infrastructure, or lack of safety guarantees."

The meeting was attended by automakers including Hyundai Motor Company, semiconductor-related companies such as Samsung Electronics and Lanix, mobile communication companies including SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, security companies like Penta Security, and autonomous vehicle-related companies such as ECSYS, ThorDrive, and WaysOne.

Minister Kim stated, "Last year, we completed the world’s first autonomous vehicle testbed equipped with a 5G communication network to support autonomous driving experiments by companies and universities," adding, "From next year, Level 3 autonomous vehicles will be able to run on actual highways."

Lanix has uniquely developed in Korea the IEEE 802.11p standard 5.9GHz wave vehicle-to-everything (V2X) integrated communication solution, a core technology for autonomous vehicles. Globally, Lanix is the only company that possesses system semiconductor solutions, software, and hardware solutions all together in the V2X communication integrated solution field.
