[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Famous BJ YangPang (real name Yang Eunji) apologized after receiving criticism from some netizens for mentioning the Chinese Dream (中國夢).
On the 5th, YangPang posted on her Instagram, "Yesterday, during an offline night broadcast, I happened to meet a famous Chinese SNS star and broadcasted together on the spot," adding, "While broadcasting with a Chinese person, the chat was flooded with comments like 'Are you entering China?' and 'China Dream'."
She continued, "So, like 'Korea Dream,' I set the broadcast title as 'Drawing the Chinese Dream' and conducted the broadcast for about two hours."
She added, "Some viewers who saw my broadcast title posted all kinds of abusive and critical comments in the chat, and fearing that I might offend or hurt the Chinese person who was broadcasting with me due to the sudden criticism, I first restricted the chat."
She further explained, "Some viewers suggested changing the broadcast title first, so I immediately changed it. Only after searching on Naver did I realize that the term 'Chinese Dream' had recently become a political issue."
The Chinese Dream refers to "realizing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation" and is known as an ideology proposed by President Xi Jinping at the 2012 Chinese Party Congress.
