Theater Company Golmokgil's New Production Directed by Park Geun-hyung, 'Winter Is Cold and Spring Is Far' Performance

From August 8 to 23 at Daehangno Art One Theater 3 Hall

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The theater company Golmokgil will perform the new play directed by Park Geun-hyung, "Winter is Cold and Spring is Far," from the 8th to the 23rd at Art One Theater 3 in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Golmokgil staged "Summer is Hot and Winter is Long" last July. "Summer is Hot and Winter is Long" was selected as one of the "Top 7 Performances" among works performed in the metropolitan area throughout 2019 at the 12th Korea Theater Awards held at the end of last year.

"Summer is Hot and Winter is Long" depicted the story of an older brother who protects their rural hometown and a younger brother who left for the city, set against a scorching summer backdrop.

In the new work "Winter is Cold and Spring is Far," the brothers live together in the city. Although they live in the same house, the situations of the older brother's and younger brother's families differ.

The older brother has passed away, and his wife and three sons live a difficult life. In contrast, the younger brother and his son live comfortably, creating a stark contrast with the older brother's family. A commotion arises when the family gathers on the anniversary of the older brother's death.

Cast includes Kang Ji-eun, Kim Jeong-ho, Lee Won-jae, Lee Ho-yeol, Kim Byeong-geon, Lee Hyun-jik, Ahn Sang-wan, and Hong Myeong-hwan.
