Samsung Electronics to Launch in Europe in January-February
Both Models Feature 6.7-Inch Display and Triple Cameras
Mid-Premium Price Range of 700,000 to 800,000 KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics has simultaneously launched the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note10 Lite. This is the first time Samsung Electronics has added the model name 'Lite' to its flagship lineups, the Galaxy S series and Note series, releasing them at more affordable prices.
On the 3rd (local time), Samsung Electronics revealed the specifications of the two products through its global newsroom and announced that they will be exhibited at CES 2020, held in Las Vegas, USA, starting from the 7th. According to industry sources, both products are scheduled to be released across Europe in January and February, while the domestic release remains undecided.
Ko Dong-jin, President of Samsung Electronics' Mobile Communications Business, said, "The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note10 Lite incorporate unique premium features that define the experience of the S and Note series."
While reflecting the premium features of the Galaxy S and Note series, the products are released at reasonable prices, interpreted as an effort to strengthen the mid-range and quasi-premium smartphone lineup. Both models come with 128GB capacity and are equipped with flagship smartphone specifications such as a triple camera, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, and a large 4500mAh battery.
The Galaxy S10 Lite's triple camera includes a standard wide-angle, a 123-degree ultra-wide-angle, and a macro camera. It supports features like Super Steady mode, specialized for dynamic photos and video shooting. It will be available in three colors: Prism White, Prism Black, and Prism Blue. The price is reportedly set at 649 euros (approximately 840,000 KRW). The domestically released Galaxy S10 (128GB) was priced at 1,056,000 KRW, and the S10e at 899,800 KRW.
The Galaxy Note10 Lite is equipped with the S Pen, known as the signature feature of the Note series. The S Pen can be used to control presentations and videos, as well as take photos. It also allows handwritten notes to be converted into text for easy editing and sharing. The camera features ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto lenses, all with 12 megapixels. The price is 599 euros, 50 euros cheaper than the S10 Lite. The colors available are Aura Black, Aura Red, and Aura Glow. The price is set at 599 euros (approximately 780,000 KRW). Considering that the Galaxy Note10 (256GB) starts at around 1,240,000 KRW, users can enjoy the Note series at a price about 500,000 KRW cheaper.
