2PM Chansung Confirmed to Take Leading Role in Joo Won’s New Drama

Boy Band 2PM member Chansung will show off his martial arts skill in a new TV series co-starring Joo Won and Choi Kang-hee.

The “High Kick” star has taken his role in new romantic action series “The War of Mystery Couple” [translated title], according to the drama’s production company Apple Tree Pictures’ press release Wednesday.

The “Hands Up” singer will play ace secret agent Gong Do-ha whose gentle looks fascinate Seo-won [played by Choi]. The pair getsinvolved in a love triangle with Gil-ro [played by Joo].

The officials said Chansung feels confident in portraying his good-looking yet mysterious character. He is told to have been building up his body with taekwondo and kendo for the role.

“We are very happy to announce Chansung’s aboard. He is one of the representative Hallyu idol stars with rookie actor’s earnestness and passion,” an official from the production firm was quoted as saying.

Slated to begin its air on MBC next January, the 20-episode series will feature young secret agents’ love, friendship, conflict and reconciliation at the National Intelligence Service.
