Korean girl group KARA will be the first idols to be turned into figurines, according to their agency DSP Media.
A press release from DSP announced on Friday that 12-inch figures of KARA's five members donned in their "Mister" stage costume will go on sale in both Korea and Japan in late March.
The dolls will be jointly created by Hot Toys, DC Comics, Nokia and Enterbay, which is famous for making the models for "Iron Man" and character Jack Sparrow from the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean."
In the meantime, KARA will release their Japanese maxi single "SPEED UP/Girls Power" which will become available in three different editions on March 21.
Composed of members Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, KARA is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market.
The girls set off on their Asia tour “KARASIA” with the first show in Seoul in mid-February and will take their show to Japan in April.
