K-pop girl group KARA will be honored at a fashion awards ceremony in Japan today, according to their agency DSP Media.
On Wednesday, DSP announced that members Park Gyu-lee, Gu Hara and Nicole will attend the ceremony for the 2011 Best Dressed Award in Japan which will take place at the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel in Tokyo tonight.
KARA will be the second Korean celebrity to receive the award following Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon who claimed the honor in 2004.
Established in 1972 by the Japanese Men's Fashion Association, the Best Dressed Award acknowledges celebrities with the best fashion sense. Former winners of the award include popular Japanese stars such as Namie Omura, Hamasaki Ayumi and Hirai Ken.
KARA, composed of other members Han Seung-yeon and Kang Ji-young, is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market.
The girls recently topped Oricon's weekly album chart with their second Japanese record "Super Girl" and nominated for the grand prize for their song "GO GO SUMMER!" at the upcoming 53rd Japan Record Awards.
