Idol group TVXQ will endorse one of Japan’s biggest retailers, revealed their agency SM Entertainment on Friday.
According to a press release by SM, TVXQ recently signed a contract with major Japanese retailer Seven & i-Holdings through which they have agreed to take part in a large-scale summer campaign planned jointly by the company’s four subsidiaries that include convenient store 7-Eleven and Sogo and Seibu department stores.
Accordingly, TVXQ recently completed shooting the TV commercial for Sogo & Seibu Card as the first step of participating in the campaign and also attended a press conference held at Seibu Department Store in Ikebukuro, yesterday, to officially announce their collaboration with Seven & i-Holdings.
TVXQ, formerly composed of Hero Jaejoong, Mickey Yuchun, Max Changmin, Xia Junsu and U-Know Yunho, enjoyed high popularity throughout Asia as one the leading dance groups in K-pop scene since their debut in 2004.
However after Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu disputed with agency SM Entertainment over the unfairness of their 13-year exclusive contract and halted their group activities altogether, TVXQ became a duo group led by Yunho and Changmin who returned to the music scene in early January this year with album "Why (Keep Your Head Down)" which swept charts at both home and abroad.
The group is currently set to take part in MBC’s live music program “Show! Music Core - Tokyo Legend” scheduled to take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Tokyo on Saturday.
