KARA new Japanese single release date re-set to April 6 Album cover for KARA's third Japanese single "Jet Coaster Love" [Universal Music Japan]

The release date of girl group KARA's third Japanese single "JET COASTER LOVE" has been rescheduled to April 6, according to their Japanese management agency Universal Music Japan.

The date was announced through a notice on Universal Music Japan's official website on Thursday, which also indicated that three versions of the album would go on sale -- 'Limited Version A' featuring the single's CD and DVD, 'Limited Version B' the CD and photobook and 'Version C' the CD including bonus tracks.

The single was supposed to be released on March 23 but Japanese record labels AVEX, Sony Music and Universal Music had all pushed back the release date of albums set to go on sale this month following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that has left at least 21,000 people dead or missing and thousands homeless.

The notification also included a line saying that all profits seen from sales of the album and downloads of "JET COASTER LOVE" will be donated to relief efforts for quake-stricken Japan, confirming KARA's earlier commitment to the cause.

KARA member Gu Hara has already contributed to relief and rescue efforts for the disaster, donating 100 million won, close to 90,000 U.S. dollars, to the Community Chest of Korea which is running a month-long charity for Japan.

KARA is one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market, having set numerous records on the prestigious Oricon chart after being named best new artists of the year at the 25th annual Japan Gold Disc Award and placing at NO.1 on the Oricon chart’s listing for the most successful new artists of 2010 and the most promising artist of 2011.

They have halted all activities as a five-member group in Korea however, with members Han Seungyeon, Kang Jiyoung and Nicole having applied for their contract with agency DSP Media to be terminated.
