Korean idol Mir from boy band MBLAQ has undergone surgery for his back injury, according to his agency J.Tune Entertainment on Thursday.
"Mir underwent surgery yesterday after he was diagnosed with early stage of disc herniation," a PR official was quoted as saying. "The surgery went well and Mir is currently receiving treatment in the hospital."
She went onto explain that the group will continue their activities as four members now and are were uncertain on when Mir will rejoin his bandmates. "We will make the decision after Mir receives a thorough medical examination and undergoes rehabilitation."
Mir had been hospitalized earlier this week when his back pain worsened after his appearance on an entertainment program.
Mir made his debut in the five-member boy band MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) in 2009 with their single album "JUST BLAQ." They followed it up with their second single "Y" in May 2009.
The group has been promoting "BLAQ Style" since early last month and are set to release their repackaged album at the end of the month.
