U-Kiss members Alexander, Ki-bum to leave group

K-pop idols Alexander and Ki-bum of boy band U-Kiss have decided to leave the group, according to their agency NH Media on Wednesday. "Alexander and Ki-bum have decided to drop out of U-Kiss for different reasons," an official from NH Media told Asia Economic Daily's Sport Today over the phone. "They will not be taking part in the group's comeback album." "Alexander explained that he wants to pursue his studies while Ki-bum wants to focus on his doll company which he set up with his brother Kim Hyung-joon of SS501." The official went on to say that they were taken aback by the news leaking out so early since Alexander planned to leave the group after fulfilling their activities overseas. "They're not leaving because something bad happened," the official stressed.In a statement released a few hours later, NH said that they had thought about the issue for a long time before going forth with preparations for the upcoming album in accordance with Alexander and Ki-bum's decisions.Composed of other members Soohyun, Ki-seop, Eli, Kevin and Dongho, U-Kiss (Ubiquitous Korean International Super Star) made their debut with single album "New Generation" in September 2008. They have also released their first album in Japan, performed in front of 5,000 fans at their concert and held promotional events as well.
