Direct Criticism of the Special Integration Bill
Renews Request for Meeting with President Lee Jaemyung
Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, has officially proposed a "final debate" to the Democratic Party regarding the ongoing controversy over the administrative integration of Daejeon and Chungnam.
He also renewed his request for a meeting with President Lee Jaemyung concerning the administrative integration.
On March 1, Governor Kim stated on Facebook, "I am the original architect of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration," adding, "Administrative integration is a timely task aimed at overcoming the dominance of the Seoul metropolitan area and achieving local autonomy and balanced development."
He went on to criticize the special bill on Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration currently under discussion and called on the political community to hold a public debate.
Governor Kim proposed a final debate to the Democratic Party, stating, "Let's put an end to the truth game-what is the real truth, who is genuinely committed to administrative integration, and who is using it as an election strategy."
He also renewed his request for a meeting with President Lee Jaemyung, saying, "If there is any sincerity left regarding administrative integration, I hope you will present a plan that, even if not the entirety of the integration proposal Chungnam has carefully prepared, is at least acceptable to our residents."
