Amid reports that the United States and Israel conducted a large-scale military operation targeting Iran on February 28 (local time) and eliminated Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran has officially denied rumors of his death.
According to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, Merdad Seyyed Mehdi, head of public relations at the Supreme Leader's office, posted on X (formerly Twitter), warning, "Be wary that the Americans and the Zionist enemy (Israel), who suffered significant damage from our soldiers' powerful attack, are waging psychological warfare."
Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency, citing sources, also reported that "Khamenei is confidently commanding the battlefield situation."
