[MWC26] KT Unveils Robot Platform 'K RaaS'... Demonstrates Implementation of Physical AI

KT announced that it will unveil its Physical Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy, which connects robots, facilities, and IT systems into a single intelligent ecosystem, along with the robot platform 'K RaaS (KT Robot as a Service)' at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the world's largest mobile exhibition.

[MWC26] KT Unveils Robot Platform 'K RaaS'... Demonstrates Implementation of Physical AI KT announced on the 1st that it will unveil its physical artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, which connects robots, equipment, and IT systems into a single intelligent ecosystem, and the robot platform "K RaaS (KT Robot as a Service)" at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, the world's largest mobile exhibition. K RaaS is a robot orchestration platform that goes beyond technology for controlling individual robots, enabling the implementation of practical, operational Physical AI services. It integrates robots, facilities, and legacy systems to recognize, analyze, and operate the entire service lifecycle, allowing AI-based automation to be applied directly to real-world business environments.

Additionally, the platform is designed with a structure optimized for cloud environments, enabling the real-time monitoring, integration, and unified operation and management of distributed robots and facilities. The overall Physical AI system works organically at the level of service flows.

This platform includes various types of agents responsible for different roles. The Service Builder Agent helps client companies design and deploy robot-converged services tailored to their environments. The K RaaS Agent allows users to check mission statuses via a natural language interface and analyze operational data to generate reports.

KT has already secured references for Physical AI implementation at various industrial sites by combining its ultra-high-speed network infrastructure, the generative AI model ‘Sota K,’ and robot orchestration technology.

KT emphasizes that K RaaS is not simply a robot interconnection or robot management control technology, but rather a field-oriented Physical AI orchestration platform where AI understands the physical environment and drives optimal execution.

The Vision-Language-Action (VLA) Agent will also be showcased. The VLA Agent integrates and comprehends visual information and language, mapping these inputs to real actions. Designed as a universal structure, equipping a robot with the VLA Agent endows it with recognition, reasoning, and action capabilities.

The VLA Agent enables robots to autonomously interpret user intent and understand context based on trigger words and gaze recognition. Users can also monitor in real time what the robot recognizes, the reasoning process it follows, and the resulting actions it initiates.

During demonstrations of the VLA Agent, the process by which a robot recognizes user intent in a crowded environment will be shown. When a visitor makes eye contact, waves, or calls out “KT Robot,” the robot simultaneously detects the trigger word and gaze, processes the input, and responds accordingly. While moving, the robot uses LiDAR sensors and depth cameras to scan its surroundings in real time, automatically avoiding people and obstacles.

This exhibition will also feature the Edge R2R (Robot-to-Robot) Agent, which operates in actual customer sites. The Edge R2R Agent performs three key roles: providing integrated services for heterogeneous robots; orchestrating all agents and legacy systems on-site; and executing missions through real-time integration with the platform.

The K RaaS Order and Delivery Agent enables AI agents to collaborate and handle the entire process from order placement to robot delivery. When a user places an order for a menu item via chat in a mobile app, the Order Agent analyzes the intent and requests delivery through the platform, which then assigns an appropriate robot. The robot autonomously navigates, integrating with various facility systems such as elevators and security gates, while customers can check the real-time location and order status. Throughout this process, the platform, Edge, VLA, and robots operate as a single ecosystem.

KT plans to highlight at the exhibition that K RaaS is a field-oriented platform in which AI understands and optimizes the physical world. Seungpil Oh, Head of Technology Innovation at KT (Vice President), stated, "K RaaS is structured to learn from data generated in the field through neural networks and applies these learnings to improve service quality and optimize operations. Through this virtuous cycle-type Physical AI system, where performance improves as learning and execution are repeated, we will expand into manufacturing, logistics, buildings, and other industries."
