March 12 at Lotte Concert Hall
Featuring Pianist Eunchae Song as Soloist
Shinik Hahm and Symphony S.O.N.G will present the second concert of the '2026 Masters Series' at Lotte Concert Hall on March 12, 2026.
In this performance, Shinik Hahm and Symphony S.O.N.G are set to deliver a vibrant stage blending the brilliant orchestration of Rimsky-Korsakov with the lyrical sensibility of Chopin.
The concert will open with the 'Russian Easter Overture', a piece by Rimsky-Korsakov based on hymns of the Russian Orthodox Church. The work starts in a calm and majestic manner, then progresses toward dazzling jubilation.
This will be followed by Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. Pianist Eunchae Song, who won the 'Gakseok Monthly - Symphony S.O.N.G Rising Star Discovery Project' in 2021 as the youngest winner, will perform as soloist. Discovered by Shinik Hahm and Symphony S.O.N.G themselves, Eunchae Song is recognized as a performer who deeply understands Chopin's distinctive delicate lyricism and virtuosic flair.
The second part of the performance features Rimsky-Korsakov's symphonic suite 'Scheherazade', inspired by the tales of Arabian Nights. This piece showcases the orchestra's most brilliant and multidimensional timbres, ranging from the solo violin motif symbolizing Scheherazade's wise voice to the majestic brass depicting storms at sea, offering a rich palette of orchestral colors.
Conductor Shinik Hahm commented, "This concert will be a time to fully enjoy the visual splendor and narrative delight inherent in music," adding, "Just as in the story of Scheherazade, I hope the performance by Shinik Hahm and Symphony S.O.N.G will become a beautiful solace, allowing the audience to forget the fatigue of daily life."
