Applications Accepted Starting February 3
Up to KRW 300,000 Provided via Wolchul Pay
Yeongam-gun in Jeollanam-do will provide entrance congratulatory funds to new students entering elementary, middle, and high schools.
Yeongam-gun announced that applications for the 2026 school year entrance congratulatory funds will be accepted from February 3 to February 20 at each eup and myeon Administrative Welfare Center.
The entrance congratulatory funds are intended to support new students as they embark on a new chapter, as part of the initiative to make Yeongam a great place to raise children. The amounts are KRW 100,000 for elementary school students, KRW 200,000 for middle school students, and KRW 300,000 for high school students, provided in the form of the local currency, 'Wolchul Pay'.
The funds are available to new students whose resident registration is in Yeongam-gun as of the date of school entrance. For foreign nationals, the place of residence on the Certificate of Registration must be Yeongam-gun in order to apply.
Applications must be submitted in person by the student's guardian at the corresponding eup or myeon Administrative Welfare Center.
Kim Sunmi, Director of the Population and Youth Division, stated, "Through a variety of policies, including the entrance congratulatory funds, we will continue to make Yeongam a better place to raise children."
