This event served as a resolution session to confirm the team's united goals for the upcoming season and to encourage one another. Following remarks from representatives of the players and parents, all attendees expressed their support for a safe, injury-free season and for the team's success throughout the year.
In particular, the players, lined up in uniforms bearing their names, each declared their goals and determination for the season, firmly stating, "We will become a team that never gives up until the end and always sticks to the basics."
Head coach Choi Gilhwan emphasized "safety" and "fundamentals" as the main themes for this season. He stated, "We prepare for every season with the same mindset, but this year, playing through the season without injuries will be valued just as highly as achieving top results," adding, "If the players trust and support each other and do their best, good results will naturally follow."
He continued, "As our baseball team represents the region, I will guide the players to set an example both in sportsmanship and school life," and pledged, "We will create a competitive yet safe season to repay the constant support from parents, alumni, and local residents."
With this event marking the completion of systematic winter training, the Hwasun High School baseball team is now entering full-fledged competition mode. This season, the team plans to reinforce programs for pitchers' physical conditioning and injury prevention, and to enhance defensive concentration training, with the goal of establishing "strong pitching and defense" as a core team identity.
Son Yongik, president of the parents' association, said, "We will actively support the student-athletes so they can balance academics and sports harmoniously," and added, "We hope the Hwasun High School baseball team will once again inspire the local community with a clean sporting spirit this year."
Founded in 2002, the Hwasun High School baseball team has produced numerous star players for professional baseball, including Kim Sunbin (KIA Tigers), Ko Youngpyo (KT Wiz), Kim Inhwan (Hanwha Eagles), Hong Gunhee (Doosan Bears), and Lee Seunghyun (Samsung Lions). The team has also demonstrated its solid strength by finishing as runner-up in national tournaments four times.
