Expected to Fill the Care Gap for Dual-Income, Single Working Parent, and Multi-Child Families
Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) announced that it will officially launch the “Sick Child Hospital Escort Service” starting in March to help ease the childcare burden for dual-income and care-gap families.
This service provides dedicated staff to safely assist children throughout the entire process-from hospital visits and medical consultations to returning home-when guardians are suddenly unable to accompany their child to the hospital.
Through this initiative, the city expects to alleviate the childcare burden on families and ensure that children can receive timely medical care even in emergency situations.
The service is available to children aged four and above up to elementary school students from dual-income, single working parent, and multi-child families residing in Gyeongsan. Applications can be submitted in advance via “Moiso,” the Gyeongbuk Province mobile app.
The service operates on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is free of charge, but hospital and medication expenses must be covered by the family.
Jung Sunghee, Director of the Social Welfare Division, stated, “This service is being implemented to help parents who find it difficult to leave work, even when their child is ill. We will continue to expand comprehensive childcare policies to make Gyeongsan a more family-friendly city.”
For further inquiries, please contact the service provider, Haessal Yeolmae Social Cooperative, or the Multicultural Family Team at the Social Welfare Division of Gyeongsan City.
