52 Students Enter Dormitory for Metropolitan Area Universities
Accelerating Efforts to Build a Prestigious Education City and Nurture Local Talent

Yeongcheon City has taken steps to create a stable academic environment for local students who have entered universities in the Seoul metropolitan area.
On February 27, Yeongcheon City announced that it held the "2026 Jaegyeong Yeongcheon Dormitory Entrance Ceremony" at the Jaegyeong Yeongcheon Dormitory located in Sinseol-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
This entrance ceremony was organized to support outstanding local talents in pursuing their dreams in Seoul and to foster a sense of attachment to their hometown.

More than 60 people attended the entrance ceremony, including 52 new residents, Kim Seongeun, Director of the Jaegyeong Yeongcheon Dormitory, and Yeongcheon city council members. The event included a briefing on dormitory operations and education on living regulations.
In addition, commendations were awarded to outstanding residents for 2025, and appointment certificates were presented to the 2026 student council members.
Located near subway lines 1 and 2 in Sinseol-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, the Jaegyeong Yeongcheon Dormitory provides affordable accommodation and meals to university students from Yeongcheon who are studying at universities in the Seoul metropolitan area, greatly contributing to reducing their financial burden.
A total of 76 students applied for admission through the 2026 dormitory recruitment announcement in early January this year, and 52 students were finally selected after a screening process.
Currently, the Jaegyeong Yeongcheon Dormitory provides breakfast and dinner every day to support the healthy lifestyle of its residents and strives to improve living conditions, such as conducting a thorough cleaning before move-in to ensure a more pleasant environment.
Bang Kigyeong, Director of Population and Education, stated, "From the moment you join the Jaegyeong Yeongcheon Dormitory, you become the driving force for Yeongcheon's new future," adding, "Yeongcheon City and the dormitory will do their utmost to help you find and achieve your greatest dreams."
