24-Hour Disaster Safety Situation Room Now in Operation
Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province will fully transition its disaster safety situation room to a 24-hour, year-round operation starting March 1, 2026, in order to better protect the lives and property of its residents, significantly strengthening its disaster preparedness posture.
With this reorganization, Goryeong County will assign a total of four dedicated disaster response personnel and implement a "four teams, two shifts" work system. This will enable the maintenance of an uninterrupted, 24/7 surveillance system throughout the year, with plans to completely eliminate disaster blind spots that may occur during vulnerable periods such as nights and holidays.

In particular, a prompt reporting system will be established to prevent delays in communication in the event of a disaster, with an emphasis on strengthening initial on-site response capabilities. In addition, a close cooperation network with relevant agencies such as the fire department and police will be operated at all times, providing an organic and systematic response to complex disaster situations.
A county official stated, "Operating the disaster safety situation room around the clock is the most fundamental responsibility for safeguarding the lives and property of our residents," adding, "We will focus on creating a safer Goryeong where residents can live their daily lives with peace of mind by ensuring thorough situation management and rapid on-site response."
