Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on February 27 that it held a joint "2026 Enterprise-wide Information Security Capability Enhancement Workshop" with the National Intelligence Service on February 24 in the corporation's main conference room. More than 60 people, including departmental information security officers and related personnel, attended the event.
This workshop was organized to raise awareness of sophisticated security incidents such as ransomware and spear phishing, which have become increasingly prevalent, and to strengthen the response system for each department. In particular, through collaboration with the National Intelligence Service branch, the workshop analyzed five major cyberattack techniques targeting public institutions and real-world damage cases, sharing practical response processes.
The key agenda items included: ▲Key lessons from major domestic and international security incidents; ▲Results of the National Intelligence Service's status assessment and improvement plans; and ▲The main directions for security work in 2026. The corporation announced plans to shift from a detection-focused audit approach to a "consulting-style audit" that blocks potential risk factors in advance and supports operational departments, garnering support from attendees.
Taking this workshop as a starting point, the corporation plans to accelerate the introduction of AI-based security monitoring systems and a national network security framework. In addition, the company will expand internal security training to further enhance enterprise-wide AX response capabilities.
Jo Wooho, Head of Aviation Security at Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "Security is like a seatbelt that helps us move safely and swiftly," adding, "With this workshop as momentum, we will ensure unwavering cyber resilience and create the safest airport passengers can trust."
