Nurturing Practical Design and Manufacturing AI Professionals
Establishing a Regional Hub Linked to Chungnam Industries
Suncheonhyang University announced on February 27 that it has been selected for the "Advanced Industry Talent Bootcamp (AI Sector)" organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), and will begin fostering design and manufacturing AI talent.
Accordingly, Suncheonhyang University will invest a total of 7.855 billion won over the next five years to nurture practical design AI and manufacturing AI professionals needed for the region's advanced industries.
The AI Bootcamp project team will collaborate with Chungnam Technopark and local companies to operate a short-term, intensive practical training program.
The educational curriculum will include beginner-level courses for non-majors as well as intermediate and advanced courses for professionals and researchers, and will introduce a specialized certification system for each design AI and manufacturing AI track.
Professor Han Sangmin, head of the project team, stated, "AI-based design and manufacturing automation will become a core competency in all industrial settings," and added, "We will establish a model for fostering AI professionals who can be immediately utilized on the industrial field."
Suncheonhyang University is currently carrying out a total of four advanced industry talent development projects, including its existing bio-specialized university program and semiconductor and display bootcamps.
Meanwhile, the university plans to strengthen its educational and research capabilities in advanced industry fields through connections with regional industries and take the lead in nurturing future-oriented industrial talent.
