Korea Gas Corporation is partnering with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) to establish and advance the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) CCTV systems tailored to natural gas supply control centers.

The Daegu Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation announced on February 26 that it has signed a "Business Agreement on the Optimal Establishment and Performance Advancement of AI CCTV" with the Korea Internet & Security Agency.

This agreement aims to strengthen security and safety management at natural gas supply control centers, which are critical national infrastructure. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the competitiveness of the related industry ecosystem by demonstrating and promoting the spread of AI-based video security technology.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will begin building video data for abnormal behavior learning that reflects scenarios specific to supply control centers. They plan to secure data covering various situations, such as intrusions and falls, to improve the detection accuracy of AI CCTV systems. Furthermore, they have agreed to newly establish a field dedicated to gas facilities in the "Intelligent CCTV Performance Testing and Certification System," and to jointly develop a standard design model for AI CCTV that can be applied to supply control centers.

To this end, the two organizations will form a "Technical Support Council for the AI CCTV Establishment Project," centered around those responsible for field operations, and will officially begin data construction and on-site demonstrations starting in March. In particular, Korea Gas Corporation plans to fully open the scenario video data, built using actual supply control center environments, to private companies to support technological advancement within the domestic AI CCTV industry.

Jang Jongil, Head of the Daegu Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters at Korea Gas Corporation, stated, "By working closely with KISA, a specialized AI CCTV certification agency, we aim to advance the adoption and utilization of AI at Korea Gas Corporation while also invigorating the related industry ecosystem. We will actively contribute to the nationwide AI transformation as well."
