Reservations for the mileage-only flights are available from 9 a.m. on the same day, and all remaining seats can be purchased with mileage. Seats can also be purchased with cash, so customers can freely choose between mileage tickets and paid tickets according to their preferences.
In particular, this round of mileage-only flights will serve the Hong Kong route for the first time. For the Hong Kong route, one-way economy class mileage tickets require a deduction of 15,000 miles and business class tickets require 22,500 miles. For the Phuket route, economy class requires 20,000 miles and business class requires 30,000 miles. However, during peak seasons, an additional 50% mileage is deducted compared with off-peak seasons.
Asiana Airlines has also started taking reservations for mileage-only flights on its domestic Jeju route. These flights will operate from March 4 to 18, with up to four Gimpo-Jeju flights and four Jeju-Gimpo flights per day, for a total of 120 flights on which mileage seats will be supplied as much as possible.
Through its international mileage ticket discount program, the "Mileage Now" promotion, discounts will also be applied to three additional European routes, including Budapest, Prague, and London, bringing the total number of discounted routes to 32. The sales period runs until March 29, and the travel period is until May 31. During the regular season, customers can receive a discount of 10,000 miles on round-trip tickets for both economy and business class.
An Asiana Airlines representative said, "We are operating mileage-only flights, including new routes, to improve convenience and expand options for customers in using their mileage," adding, "We will actively review various measures so that mileage can be used more broadly."
