Separate Woofers and Tweeters for Orchestra-Like Sound
Reject Calls with a Shake of Your Head...No More Noise Worries
Compatible with Multiple AI Agents and Real-Time Translation
Samsung Electronics has unveiled two models in its next-generation Bluetooth earphone lineup, the "Galaxy Buds4 series." At Galaxy Unpacked 2026, held in San Francisco, United States, on February 25 (local time), the company introduced the in-ear "Galaxy Buds4 Pro" and the open-type "Galaxy Buds4." These products boast high-quality audio, comfortable wear, and artificial intelligence (AI) connectivity.
Samsung Electronics stated that the Galaxy Buds4 series was ergonomically designed based on 100 million ear data points covering a wide range of races, genders, and nationalities, as well as more than 10,000 fit simulations. This allows users to experience a more stable and comfortable fit compared with the previous generation. The new design, which incorporates metal material into the stem, adds a refined touch, while the case lid is made translucent so users can intuitively check whether the earbuds are stored inside.
The Buds4 Pro delivers the best sound quality in the series' history. Inside the product are small speaker units that split sound roles: a woofer responsible for bass and a tweeter responsible for treble. When a single speaker plays all sounds, the audio quality can become muddy or certain frequency ranges can weaken. However, the Buds4 Pro physically separates the woofer and tweeter so that, like instruments in an orchestra, each component plays its own role in reproducing music, delivering optimal sound. In addition, by minimizing the bezel space at both ends, Samsung has increased the size of the diaphragm by 20% compared with the previous model. This enables a more powerful yet detailed sound.
In the commercial for the Buds4 series shown at the Galaxy Unpacked event, Suga, a member of BTS, appeared working on music. Later, while roaming the city wearing the product, he said, "It only has meaning if you can hear it exactly as it was produced. Listen to it just as it was made," suggesting the near-original sound experience of the Buds4 Pro.
The Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) function has also been upgraded compared with the previous generation. The Pro model analyzes the user’s wearing status in real time to deliver optimal noise-blocking performance. It is said to allow users to sleep comfortably on an airplane just by wearing the Buds4. In addition, the standard Buds4 also supports ambient sound mode, allowing users to comfortably hear external sounds without removing the earbuds.
According to Samsung, users wear Buds for more than 4 hours a day on average. Accordingly, the company focused on functions that create synergy with the phone, such as call quality and AI agent activation. The "Super Clear Call" feature for high-quality calls analyzes the user’s voice pattern and surrounding noise to remove unnecessary background sounds. Samsung explained that even in a noisy soccer stadium, conversations can flow smoothly to the extent that the person on the other end may not notice the environment.
Galaxy smartphone users can instantly pair with the Buds4 series simply by opening the charging case, without installing a separate app, and can easily control the Buds via the phone’s settings or Quick Panel. A new "head gesture" feature has also been added to both products, allowing users to answer calls or control Bixby just by moving their head. For example, even when both hands are occupied, such as while cooking or exercising, users can accept or reject calls with simple nodding or shaking motions.
With the earbuds in, users can summon their preferred AI agents such as Bixby, Gemini, or Perplexity. They can, for instance, listen to a news briefing while getting ready for work or receive music recommendations tailored to the weather, among many other uses. This allows users to take advantage of AI technology without lifting a finger. Real-time translation is also supported. By wearing the Buds and placing the phone close to the speaker, users can "discreetly" listen in on what locals are saying overseas.
The products are available in white and black, and for the Pro model only, a pink gold color will be offered exclusively on Samsung.com. Samsung Electronics will begin pre-orders from midnight on February 27, with the official launch in Korea scheduled for March 11. Customers who pre-order can receive their products starting March 5. The prices are 359,000 won for the Buds4 Pro and 259,000 won for the Buds4. More detailed information about the products can be found on Samsung.com.
