Gyeonggi Province has appointed singer Park Sangmin, former marathoner Lee Bongju, musical director Park Lydia, child actress Han Jian, and broadcaster Dorn Emily as new publicity ambassadors.
On the 26th, Governor Kim Dongyeon of Gyeonggi Province held the "2026 Gyeonggi Province Publicity Ambassador Appointment Ceremony" at his office in the provincial government building and presented letters of appointment to the five appointees.
Over the next two years, they will play a role in widely promoting the policies and values of Gyeonggi Province to residents and audiences both at home and abroad through a variety of activities, including appearing in promotional content for key provincial policies in areas such as culture and the arts, welfare, youth, international exchange, and everyday sports, as well as participating in provincial publicity events.

On this day, Governor Kim Dongyeon discussed a wide range of topics, including the Immigration and Multicultural Affairs Bureau, the first of its kind among metropolitan governments, the use of reusable containers, large-scale discount events to revitalize neighborhood markets, and film festivals organized by Gyeonggi Province.
Governor Kim said, "Thank you for accepting the role of Gyeonggi Province publicity ambassador," and emphasized, "One out of every four people in Korea is a resident of Gyeonggi Province. In that sense, the publicity ambassadors are effectively representing a very large number of residents." He then spontaneously suggested that the ambassadors film a mukbang in Gyeonggi Province's traditional markets.
The publicity ambassadors appointed this time are figures who combine professional expertise and broad public recognition in their respective fields.
