Signing of Joint Cooperation Agreement for Baekseok District Urban Development
Yangju City and GS Engineering & Construction Launch Dedicated Baekseok District Task Force
On the 26th, Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province signed a "Joint Cooperation Agreement for the Expeditious Promotion of the Baekseok District Urban Development Project" with GS Engineering & Construction.

The signing ceremony was attended by Yangju Mayor Kang Suhyun, Nam Kyungho, Head of the Housing Construction Division at GS Engineering & Construction, Yangju City Council Chairman Yoon Changcheol, and other key officials, who reaffirmed their strong commitment to the success of the project.
The agreement aims to transform the Baekseok District into a premium city that goes beyond a simple residential complex, creating a space where housing, leisure, and culture coexist, thereby promoting balanced development in Yangju City and strengthening its urban competitiveness.
Under the agreement, the two parties will simultaneously pursue the development of large-scale sports facilities, including a golf course, within the Baekseok District, along with a multifamily housing construction project to ensure a stable supply of housing. Through this, they plan to establish a "job-residence proximity" urban model in which workplaces and residential areas are located close to each other.
In particular, to improve transportation conditions, which are of great concern to residents, they agreed to actively cooperate in establishing effective "metropolitan transportation improvement measures," including the expansion of the road network and the enhancement of connections to public transportation.
Specific implementation plans have also been prepared to ensure swift progress of the project. Yangju City will provide active administrative support so that all administrative procedures, including permits and approvals, can proceed smoothly, while GS Engineering & Construction plans to complete the project within the planned schedule through fair and efficient project management.

In addition, the agreement established the basis for forming and operating a "Baekseok District Urban Development Project Task Force Team" dedicated to the project, in order to efficiently coordinate major issues arising during implementation and to enable prompt decision-making.
An official from Yangju City said, "This agreement will be an important turning point for the Baekseok District to emerge as a new growth engine for the western part of Yangju City," adding, "We will work closely with GS Engineering & Construction to create a pleasant residential environment that citizens can be proud of."
