Disability Welfare Frontline Workers Gather in One Place... Gwangju Capacity Building Workshop

Held in Naju for Two Days from the 26th
Reviewing Practical Competencies through Job Training and Special Policy Lectures

A capacity building workshop to strengthen the job expertise of social welfare workers for persons with disabilities in Gwangju is being held for two days from the 26th at the Grand Ballroom on the first floor of Jungheung Gold Spa & Resort in Naju, South Jeolla Province. Organized by the Gwangju Metropolitan City Association of Persons with Disabilities, the event is attended by about 150 people, including related organizations, heads of member organizations, and frontline workers.


This workshop has been prepared to enhance the job expertise of workers engaged in the field of welfare for persons with disabilities, to prevent burnout, and to promote qualitative improvement in social welfare services.

Disability Welfare Frontline Workers Gather in One Place... Gwangju Capacity Building Workshop Participants at the "2026 Capacity-Building Workshop for Disability Social Welfare Workers," held on the 26th at Jungheung Gold Spa & Resort in Naju, Jeollanam-do, pose for a commemorative photo.

The workshop consists of job competency enhancement training and healing programs. Seo Jeongdae, Head of the Botam-e Training Team at the Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute, will provide training on settlement procedures for private subsidy project operators, focusing on the local subsidy management system "Botam-e."


Kang Soyoung, Director of the treatment room at Udi Sangmu Dental Clinic, will give a lecture on the importance of oral health care, and Representative Yoo Songja will lead a vitality-boosting program under the theme of "Creating an Exciting Life."


In the special lecture, Chairperson Shin Sujeong will present the policy directions for social welfare, and Assemblywoman Hwang Kyunga will share ways to communicate with the council.


Kim Youngsun, Chairperson of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Association of Persons with Disabilities, said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude for your hard work in the field," adding, "I hope this workshop will be a meaningful time where both professional development and rest can coexist."
