Third-generation LS Group Executive and Taein CEO Lee Sanghyun Appointed Chairman of the Cultural Heritage National Trust

Serving as Chairman of the National Chorus of Korea and the Korea Cycling Federation
"I Will Expand Cultural Heritage Conservation Activities Together with the Public"

Lee Sanghyun, a third-generation member of the LS Group and CEO of Taein, has been inaugurated as chairman of the Cultural Heritage National Trust.


The Cultural Heritage National Trust, which is under the National Heritage Administration, announced that it held a board meeting on the 26th and appointed CEO Lee as the new chairman. The term of office is three years.

The new chairman Lee is a grandson through a daughter of the late Koo Taehoe, honorary chairman of LS Cable and co-founder of the LS Group. He is currently serving as chairman of the National Chorus of Korea and chairman of the Korea Cycling Federation, and is active in the fields of culture, arts, and sports, including supporting cultural and sports activities for youth with disabilities.


He also unearthed the first Dokdo marker photograph bearing the designation of Korean territorial jurisdiction and donated it to the Academy of Korean Studies, and helped raise awareness of the value of our precious cultural heritage by facilitating the repatriation and public exhibition of the calligraphy work "Nokjuk" by independence activist Ahn Junggeun.


The Cultural Heritage National Trust is a special corporation established under the Act on National Trusts for Cultural Heritage and Natural Environment, and carries out public-interest projects to conserve, manage, and utilize cultural heritage based on voluntary participation and sponsorship from the public.


The new chairman Lee stated, "Based on the experience I have accumulated in the cultural and sports sectors, I will expand cultural heritage conservation activities carried out together with the public and further solidify our status as a trusted public-interest institution."
