The LACP Vision Awards is the world’s largest competition that evaluates and awards sustainability management reports of companies and organizations around the globe. This year, a record high of more than 1,000 companies from 20 countries participated. The corporation received full marks in 7 out of 8 evaluation categories - first impression, cover design, stakeholder message, content organization, financial information, creativity, and clarity of information delivery - and obtained the highest grade with a score of 99 points. This is an improvement by one level from last year’s Gold Prize.

Together with the Grand Prize, the corporation also received the “Worldwide Top 100” award, which selects the top 100 award-winning organizations worldwide (ranked 74th this year, up from 99th last year), and the “Technical Achievement Award,” which evaluates technical excellence, thereby achieving a triple crown for the second consecutive year.

The award-winning “2024-2025 Seoul Transportation Corporation Sustainability Management Report” details the corporation’s performance in fulfilling its social responsibilities as a public institution, including eco-friendly railway operations for carbon neutrality, guaranteeing mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable groups, and strengthening the subway safety network. In particular, its management strategy structured around M (Metronext) - E (Environment) - S (Safety) - S (Society) - G (Governance), stakeholder interviews with global partner COMET, and benchmarking cases of urban railways in cities around the world received high acclaim.

Since introducing ESG management in 2022, the corporation has been the only urban railway operator in Korea to achieve an A grade for two consecutive years in the K-ESG evaluation, and it has also received an A+ grade in the ISO 26000 implementation level assessment.

Han Younghee, Head of the Planning Division and Acting President, said, “This award is the result of the corporation’s ESG management efforts being officially recognized on the international stage,” adding, “We will do our utmost to build a safe Seoul subway system that is trusted worldwide.”
