Yeongcheon-si Breaks Through Agricultural Machinery Rental Bottlenecks... All-out Effort to Support Timely Farming

Dispersing Rental Demand and Alleviating Labor Shortages by Providing 15 Compost Spreaders

Yeongcheon-si is accelerating the "2026 Pilot Project for Agricultural Machinery" to address rural aging and labor shortages ahead of the full-scale farming season.

Yeongcheon-si announced that it will invest a total project budget of 250 million won (50% subsidy, 50% self-funded) to provide 15 small and medium-sized compost spreaders to local agricultural cooperatives, including Geumho Nonghyup.

Yeongcheon-si Breaks Through Agricultural Machinery Rental Bottlenecks... All-out Effort to Support Timely Farming Yeongcheon City will actively promote the "2026 Pilot Project for Agricultural Machinery" ahead of the upcoming farming season. Provided by Yeongcheon City.

The core of this project is to maximize efficiency by having local agricultural cooperatives operate agricultural machinery, which is costly for individual farms to purchase, so that farmers can use it jointly.

This is a follow-up project based on the achievements of the "Support Project for Joint Use of Orchard Branch Shredders," which was successfully implemented in 2024.

At that time, Yeongcheon-si invested a project budget of 120 million won to provide 11 branch shredders to local agricultural cooperatives, thereby effectively dispersing and easing the concentrated demand for agricultural machinery rentals that had been focused between January and March.

Through this project, Yeongcheon-si plans to alleviate rental bottlenecks by distributing the rental of agricultural machinery with concentrated demand between the agricultural machinery rental center and local agricultural cooperatives, and to improve convenience so that farmers can use agricultural machinery in a timely manner during the farming season.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, "Joint use of agricultural machinery centered on local agricultural cooperatives plays an essential role in reducing the equipment purchase burden on farms and increasing agricultural productivity," adding, "We will continue to expand customized agricultural machinery support projects that reflect voices from the field."
