A Total of 153.6 Million Won Awarded
The Goseong Education Foundation, which leads scholarship programs and talent development for local students in Goseong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province, held the 2026 scholarship award ceremony on the 25th in the main conference room of the county office, with Goseong County Mayor Lee Sang-geun, foundation board members, scholarship recipients and their parents, and about 250 other attendees.
This year, a total of 233 students were selected as scholarship recipients, including 90 students for arts, physical education, and special talent scholarships, 49 students for scholarships for outstanding academic performance among those advancing to local high schools, 36 students for scholarships for outstanding academic performance among current high school students, 10 students for aviation industry workforce development scholarships, 18 students for exemplary student scholarships, and 30 students for scholarships for outstanding high school graduation grades. A total of 153.6 million won in scholarships was awarded.
Cheon Kyung-woo, Chairman of the Board of the Goseong Education Foundation, said, "We will continue to make every effort to fully realize the founding purpose of the Goseong Education Foundation and to carry on the reputation of Goseong as a hometown of talent," adding, "The foundation will continue to take the lead so that students in Goseong-gun can receive many benefits and education in Goseong-gun can further develop."
Meanwhile, the Goseong Education Foundation, an organization funded by Goseong-gun, was established on May 21, 2021, and has been promoting scholarship programs and other projects for the development of children and adolescents through contributions and donations from Goseong-gun.
