On the 25th, Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province inspected windbreak facilities along the Jungnangcheon and Buyongcheon streams, from Barefoot Youth Road in Jangam-dong to Hyoja Station in Singok-dong, checked the sections of the cherry blossom road in Howon-dong scheduled for reinforcement work, and listened to civil complaints on site.

This inspection was carried out to review the operating conditions of river windbreak facilities and to create a waterfront environment that citizens can use with peace of mind. At the same time, the city examined ways to improve the scenery of the cherry blossom road in Howon-dong, one of Uijeongbu’s representative spring attractions.
On that day, the city moved along the Jungnangcheon and Buyongcheon sections to inspect key facilities such as windbreak screens along the Ttasum-gil trail, pergolas, and the Ttasum rest areas under bridges. In particular, to strengthen safety management, officials carefully checked the anchoring of windbreak facilities and whether the supports were securely fastened. They also communicated with citizens using the facilities on site to gauge how the facilities are perceived and to hear suggestions for improvements.
In addition, they visited the cherry blossom road in Howon-dong to inspect the sections scheduled for reinforcement work and thoroughly checked the growth conditions of the trees and the planting environment. The city plans to improve the surrounding environment so that the cherry blossom road, a signature attraction of Uijeongbu, can be made even more pleasant and citizens can fully enjoy the spring atmosphere.
An official from Uijeongbu City said, “Rivers are both a place of rest in citizens’ daily lives and the face of the city,” adding, “We will pursue administration that listens to citizens’ voices on site and takes care of both safety and the landscape.”
