The program was designed to help Dream Start children, who have relatively fewer opportunities for cultural and career experiences, awaken their potential and develop a sound view of careers by experiencing real-world workplaces.
According to their individual interests, the children visited more than 30 different job booths, including firefighter, police officer, aircraft pilot, dentist, and YouTuber. In environments set up to closely resemble actual worksites, the children directly performed the roles of each occupation, deepening their understanding of the respective jobs.
An official from Gochang-gun Dream Start said, "We hope this became a valuable time for the children to step outside the classroom, throw themselves into real-world settings, and give concrete shape to their future dreams," adding, "We will continue to develop even more substantial and diverse career exploration programs so that children can discover their aptitudes and grow into healthy members of society."
Meanwhile, Gochang-gun Dream Start provides customized, integrated services for each area of child development - including physical and health, cognitive and language, and emotional and behavioral domains - for vulnerable children from newborns up to 12 years old and their families. The county plans to build a dense welfare network focused on case management so that children can be guaranteed equal starting opportunities.
