Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Holds Awards Ceremony on 25th for "AI-deas to Promote Gyeonggi" Contest

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held an awards ceremony for the "Gyeonggi Tourism International AI Video Contest," which was conducted to promote the diverse charms of Gyeonggi Province at home and abroad by utilizing generative AI technology.


The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 26th that a total of 1,680 entries were submitted to the contest, which ran for five weeks from December last year under the theme "AI-deas to Promote Gyeonggi." Of these, 1,216 entries came from Korea and 464 from overseas.


On the 25th, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held the awards ceremony along with screenings of the winning works at Dong Suwon CGV. In addition, for those interested in the winning entries, related videos have been uploaded to the "Gyeonggi Tourism YouTube" channel, and can be viewed at any time.

The grand prize went to "Gyeonggi, Where Time Gone By Becomes Everyday Life Today," which creatively reinterprets Gyeonggi Province's tourism resources as an encounter between the past and the present. The winner received prize money of 10 million won.


Cho Wonyong, President of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, said, "This contest has confirmed that AI can become a powerful tool for breaking through the limitations of tourism marketing," adding, "We will actively utilize the selected innovative videos to vigorously promote Gyeonggi Province's unique charm to domestic and international tourists. At the same time, we will continue to do our utmost to enhance Gyeonggi's image as an attractive travel destination through global AI tourism content in the future."
