Sequential Release Starting February 26 with "Gilt-bronze Buddha Triad under a Canopy"
Twenty-three Short-form Episodes Scheduled Every Other Thursday
In-depth Value to Be Highlighted in Long-form Episodes in June and November
The Gyeongju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage announced on February 26 that it will sequentially release twenty-five video contents featuring three-dimensional (3D) imagery of Silla relics on YouTube and Instagram by the end of the year.
The series consists of twenty-three short-form episodes titled "Silla at a Glance" and two long-form episodes titled "More of Silla" that provide in-depth commentary. The first content unveiled on this day is the short-form episode "Gilt-bronze Buddha Triad under a Canopy." This Buddhist statue depicts two Buddhas seated side by side, a style that mainly flourished in Balhae and is rarely found among Silla remains. Marking the 50th anniversary of the excavation of Hwangnyongsa Temple, the institute will demonstrate the academic value of this relic through video.
Subsequent short-form episodes will be presented to viewers every other Thursday. The long-form episodes, each delving into a specific theme, are scheduled for June and November. They will focus respectively on "Relics Excavated from the Wooden Pagoda Site of Hwangnyongsa Temple" and "Roof Tiles Excavated from the Hwangnyongsa Temple Site."
