Korea Federation of SMEs Holds General Meeting, Vows to Focus on Win-Win Cooperation in Finance and Distribution

Awards Presented to Outstanding SME Cooperatives and Meritorious Contributors

The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 26th that it held the 64th regular general meeting at its Yeouido headquarters, with more than 400 participants including representatives of member small and medium enterprise cooperatives and related organizations.

At the regular general meeting, the Korea Federation of SMEs reported on last year's major policy achievements and presented awards to outstanding SME cooperatives and meritorious individuals.


The following organizations were selected as outstanding SME cooperatives: the Korea Printing Cooperative Federation, the Gyeonggi-do Concrete Industry Cooperative, the Jeonnam Southern Ready-mixed Concrete Business Cooperative, the Busan Gyeongnam Noodle Food Industry Cooperative, the Jeonbuk Craft Cooperative, and the Pocheon Furniture Industry Cooperative.


The following individuals were selected as meritorious contributors: Jung Heesung, Director General of the Korea Super Chain Distribution Business Cooperative; Sung Dongil, Full-time Director of the Seoul Gyeonggi Tofu and Muk Manufacturing Cooperative; and Son Munhwa, Full-time Director of the Daegu Gyeongbuk Plastic Industry Cooperative.


The Korea Federation of SMEs submitted and approved five agenda items: the 2025 business report, financial statements and surplus appropriation plan; the 2026 business plan and budget for revenues and expenditures; amendments to the articles of association; a proposal for delegation of authority to the board of directors; and a proposal for the election of executives.


In his opening remarks, Korea Federation of SMEs Chairman Kim Kimoon said, "The KOSPI has surpassed 6,000 points, and exports have exceeded 700 billion dollars, ranking fifth in the world, which shows that our national standing is rising," adding, "However, these achievements are concentrated among a few large corporations, and many small and medium-sized enterprises are still voicing difficulties."


Chairman Kim emphasized, "In 2026, we will focus on promoting win-win cooperation in the financial and distribution sectors and strengthening the role of cooperatives in supporting SMEs, as well as advancing SMEs into global markets and fostering region-led growth, so that, with an unwavering spirit of self-strengthening, we can together usher in a golden age for small and medium-sized enterprises."
