Teraview, a terahertz technology and solutions company, announced on the 26th that it has secured additional orders from a global top-tier semiconductor foundry and a smartphone supplier.
Each of the companies that placed new orders with Teraview had already adopted and is currently using EOTPR (Electro-Optical Terahertz Pulse Reflectometry), an ultra-precision inspection system that utilizes terahertz waves, which are electromagnetic waves vibrating 1 trillion times per second.
The semiconductor foundry has been using EOTPR for inspections for several years and has extended its maintenance contract ahead of adding EOTPR automation functions in the second quarter of this year. This customer is one of the largest suppliers of key components to artificial intelligence (AI) chip manufacturers.
Don Arnone, CEO of Teraview, said, "EOTPR can meet the needs of a wide range of customers across the entire semiconductor value chain, from AI chip manufacturers and suppliers that produce smart chips to foundry clients."
Meanwhile, Teraview is accelerating research and development of terahertz technology, which is emerging as a core technology at a time when the boundaries of the semiconductor equipment industry are collapsing and segments are converging in the process of hyper-convergence driven by the advancement of high-tech industries, while also working to expand its market share.
